Alli Destefano, LPC
My mission as a therapist is to empower my clients to learn about their true selves and to utilize that growth and knowledge to become their best self.
I am an alumna of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, where I obtained both my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In 2021, I earned professional licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
My career as a therapist began in community mental health, where I had exposure to a vastly diverse population of individuals. For the past several years, I have been working in the field of drug and alcohol treatment. I have plenty of experience working with individuals struggling with substance use and abuse, acute mental health symptoms (such as mood disorders, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, impulsive behaviors), and co-occurring diagnoses and symptoms. I have experience with both individual and group therapy and truly enjoy fostering a sense of community and support in group-based settings.
In addition to obtaining licensure, I have earned certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). Assisting individuals in overcoming the difficulties associated with trauma and finding comfort in vulnerability is a passion of mine. I have previously provided treatment specifically for women whom have experienced substance use and domestic violence.
Everyone’s therapy journey is different, therefore I make it a priority to utilize a combination of strategies to meet my client’s specific needs. I take a person-centered approach as well as an eclectic and creative approach to treatment. Some of the modalities I utilize include Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Seeking Safety, mindfulness and relaxation techniques.
It is an honor and a privilege to be part of your healing journey!
