Carlene Ostromecki, LCSW
Hello! I'm Carlene Ostromecki, and I'm honored to join you on your healing journey. I deeply believe in your innate wisdom and see my role as guiding you to recognize and harness that wisdom. My background in Public Health from Ithaca College laid the foundation for my career in mental health and counseling.
In my pursuit to support others, I've gained valuable experience at nonprofits, where I learned about community needs and dynamics. This experience fueled my desire to deepen my impact, leading me to earn a Master’s degree in Social Sciences with a focus on clinical therapy and a Home/School Visitor Certification from Bryn Mawr College.
Since entering the field in 2018, I've dedicated myself to assisting individuals, families, and couples facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, complex trauma, child behavioral needs, life transitions, and relationship dynamics. I've worked in various settings, including family-based therapy, residential treatment facilities, schools, and outpatient therapy.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in humanism, acknowledging our shared struggles and offering support as a co-pilot in your journey. I draw from a variety of modalities, including emotion-focused therapy, CBT, DBT, and humor. I'm currently EMDR trained and on the path to EMDR Certification. I integrate aspects of attachment theory, internal family systems, inner-child work, Gottman Method, and solution-focused theories into my practice.
I am further sensitive to and aware of cultural, social, sexual, gender, and religious orientations and happy to have those conversations.
Outside of therapy, I find joy in cooking (and eating), traveling, hiking with my husband, and doting on my spoiled fur babies, Lines and Grim. I also enjoy CrossFit, embracing my competitive side, and am passionate about sharing mental health education with my church community.
